Excel Industrial Doors and Shutters provide Roller Shutter Door for West Yorkshire manufacturer

The team at Excel were recently contacted by IFG Drake, a world-leading polypropylene fibre and yarn manufacturer based in West Yorkshire. IFG Drake were looking for a new roller shutter door to replace an old door at their site in Drighlington, and Excel were happy to provide an efficient, secure solution.

After an initial consultation and visit to the site to take measurements and determine exactly what would be required, the client and the team settled on an insulated three-phase electric roller shutter door. Our insulated roller shutter doors are secure, efficient and durable, making them the ideal option for the client.

The door, manufactured in-house at Excel Roller Shutters, is powered by a GFA Elektromaten ‘Safe Drive’ motor, and also includes a safety brake to ensure that the speed of the curtain is safely controlled. The curtain itself is made from galvanised steel, with each section measuring 94mm deep and possessing a multi-ribbed face for added rigidity.

Durable nylon end fittings were added to the edges of each panel, with the bottom of the curtain protected by a plastic extrusion featuring an interlocking rubber weather seal. The door’s Ecotech formula foam infill is free of CFCs, has a low global warming value and has an ODP of zero, meaning that it is very environmentally friendly in addition to providing superb insulative properties. Finally, the door was completed with a Sunflower Yellow powder coating finish.

Once the team had removed and disposed of the old door, they promptly commenced fitting and securing the new roller shutter door, including a hand-operated manual override system in case of mains power loss. With the door perfectly fitted and the client satisfied, it was another job well done.
